Instead of looking for God and doing His deeds, we want to exclude Him, like all the other people do. We want to be special but in the same time we want to blend with the crowd. Why is that?

19 Nevertheless, the people refused to listen to the voice of Samuel,
and they said, No! We will have a king over us,

20 That we also may be like all the nations ,
and that our king may govern us
and go out before us and fight our battles.

1 Samuel 8:19-20

My First Photo Shooting at an Event with my New Canon EOS 450D

On Tuesday, the day that my new Canon EOS 450D arrived, I went to the 1st Christian Baptist Church of Iasi youth meeting. That was the first event where I had the opportunity to test my new photo camera. Enjoy the below photos and feel free to comment and to give me the advice that I really need.

Having a Thanking Attitude Towards God Brings Wholeness / Completeness in Your Life

Photo Having a Thanking Attitude Towards God Brings Wholeness / Completeness in Your Life

11 And it came to pass, as he went to Jerusalem,
that He passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee.

12 And as He entered into a certain village,
there met him ten men that were lepers,
which stood afar off:

13 And they lifted up their voices, and said,
Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.

14 And when He saw them, he said unto them,
Go shew yourselves unto the priests.
And it came to pass, that,
as they went, they were cleansed.

15 And one of them,
when he saw that he was healed,
turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God,

16 And fell down on his face at his feet,
giving Him thanks:
and he was a Samaritan.

17 And Jesus answering said,
Were there not ten cleansed?
but where are the nine?

18 There are not found that returned to give glory to God,
save this stranger.

19 And He said unto him,
Arise, go thy way:
thy faith hath made thee whole.

Luke 17:11-19

God’s Word is so powerful. It blows my mind. Nothing more, nothing less…

Idolatry

1 There was a man of the hill country of Ephraim
whose name was Micah.

2 And he said to his mother,
The 1,100 shekels (13 kg) of silver that were taken from you,
about which you cursed and also spoke about in my hearing,
behold, I have the silver with me; I took it.
And his mother said, Blessed be you by the Lord, my son!

3 He restored the 1,100 shekels of silver to his mother,
and she said,
I had truly dedicated the silver to the Lord
from my hand for my son
to make a graven image and a molten image;
now therefore, I will restore it to you.

4 So when he restored the money to his mother,
she took 200 pieces of silver
and gave them to the silversmith,
who made of it a graven image and a molten image;
and they were in the house of Micah.

5 And the man Micah had a house of gods,
and he made an ephod and teraphim
and dedicated one of his sons, who became his priest.

6 In those days there was no king in Israel;
every man did what was right in his own eyes.

7 And there was a young man in Bethlehem of Judah,
of the family of Judah, who was a Levite;
and he sojourned there.

8 And the man departed from the town of Bethlehem in Judah
to sojourn where he could find a place,
and as he journeyed he came to the hill country of Ephraim
to the house of Micah.

9 And Micah said to him,
From where do you come?
And he said to him, I am a Levite of Bethlehem in Judah,
and I go to sojourn where I may find a place.

10 And Micah said to him,
Dwell with me and be to me a father and a priest,
and I will give you ten pieces of silver each year,
a suit of clothes, and your living.
So the Levite went in.

11 And the Levite was content to dwell with the man,
and the young man was to Micah as one of his sons.

12 And Micah consecrated the Levite,
and the young man became his priest
and was in the house of Micah.

13 Then said Micah,
Now I know that the Lord will favor me,
since I have a Levite to be my priest.

Judges 17

How many of you have an altar in your home, a physical one, with little statues? That is wrong because God said:

4 You shall not make yourself any graven image [to worship it]
or any likeness of anything that is in the heavens above,
or that is in the earth beneath,
or that is in the water under the earth;

5 You shall not bow down yourself to them or serve them;
for I the Lord your God am a jealous God,
visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children
to the third and fourth generation
of those who hate Me,

Exodus 20:4-5

What Happens When Things are Said to be Sacred

And Gideon made an ephod [a sacred, high priest’s garment] of it, and put it in his city of Ophrah, and all Israel paid homage to it there, and [a]it became a snare to Gideon and to his family.

Judges 8:27

The gold and purple of the spoil enabled Gideon to make an ephod, presumably on the pattern of that described in Exodus 28. It was not exactly an idol but a kind of fetish, and it diverted the thoughts of the people from Shiloh and the spiritual worship of the unseen and eternal God. So apt is the human heart to cling to some outward emblem – it may be a crucifix, a wafer, or a church – and miss that worship in spirit and in truth which the Father seeks (John 4:23)

What should we do with our weak spot(s)?

Each of us have a weak point. We are not perfect, even if we were designed perfectly, to be perfect. Each of us have a predisposition to sin.

Here’s what happened to Israel after Joshua and the elders from his time died: Continue reading What should we do with our weak spot(s)?

Giving and Receiving Love

I have given you a land for which you did not labor and cities you did not build, and you dwell in them; you eat from vineyards and olive yards you did not plant.

Joshua 24:13

God blesses me, and also you, with things that we do not deserve. God is full of love . Am I following His example of love? Continue reading Giving and Receiving Love

Working together with God

Foreword: In my last year post I tend to write more of my thoughts. I did this because this is what I felt to write, this is how God spoke to me. He spoke me trough the Bible and from what I was reading translated everything in my own language – a new way of saying thing, in my own way, but with the same meaning as with what I was reading. This year is different. Indeed, I have a different schedule to read the Bible. But, I was thinking that it would happen like the last year. This year I write down in my notebook and also on this blog just verses, without much, or even none of my thoughts. I do not know if it is a regression. I have to write more on this topic. I am looking forward to it.

Today, as I was reading from the 1st part of the Bible, God spoke me in Joshua 10. It is an example for me to fallow. Also, it is a good example for you to follow. When I have to do something, even if it is planned or not in advance, the best way to do it is together with my heavenly Dad. Most of the times I just run into the issue. I want to solve it, in my own way, by myself. In this manner we ask ourselves why it didn’t work, why it wasn’t entirely a success. Here it is the passage that inspired me: Continue reading Working together with God
